As India begin their preparations for the next cycle of ODI World Cup in 2027, the selectors unveiled Shubman Gill, the current test captain as the next ODI captain for Team India ahead of their tour of Australia.
Shubman Gill will have a major task ahead of him leading India on a tour of Australia, but he will have the added benefit of both, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli playing their first games for India since the end of the Champions Trophy in a format both have dominated.

Both, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma announced their Test retirements in May, and last featured in the Final of the Champions Trophy against New Zealand which they won by four wickets in Dubai.
