Gujarat Titans and their Ultimate Goal:

  • The Gujarat Titans will be hoping to go back to their winning ways, after winning the title in their first season and being runners-up in the second, 2024 was a setback.
  • Finding an overseas finisher having released David Miller and Azmatullah Omarzai who have impressed globally with their abilities.
  • A genuine overseas quick which is something Ashish Nehra has seemed to like, when he picked Joshua Little and Spencer Johnson.
  • An overseas spinner to go alongside Rashid Khan for when they look to go in with a spin-heavy attack.

What kind of players do GT need?

  • Having released Wriddhiman Saha and Matthew Wade, the Gujarat Titans are out hunting for a overseas or a local keeper who will be able to compliment Shubman Gill up top.
  • Requiring two overseas batters/allrounders at 4 and 5, the Gujarat Titans need a player who is in touch with the format and is able to make quick runs, but dig in if required as well.
  • An Indian spin bowler with Sai Kishore having been let go of, a spin bowler or a spin bowling all-rounder to hold an end up.
  • Overseas bowler who may be a spinner or a quick bowler based on the conditions at the venue before the game.

Possible Purchases:

The Gujarat Titans can splurge, and they will ideally be looking to splurge big on a few names who may form the core of their side for the new few years.

  • Phil Salt: He has been express in the Powerplay in 2024 and solves their keeping issue, having played for the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2024. His strike rate of 172.78 and balls per boundary of 3.59 in the powerplay leaves him in great demand and the Titans may fancy their chances in picking him.
  • Ishan Kishan: If the Titans wanted to pick an Indian keeper up top, they could sign on Ishan Kishan, who has not been at his best, striking at 124 in the powerplay in the last 12 months, and with a balls per boundary of 3.95!
  • Glenn Maxwell: Maxi for the Gujarat Titans may sound odd, but with an empty slot at 5 and the sort of backing GT provide their players, he may just be the game-changer for them. In the last 24 months, he has a balls per boundary ratio of 4.8 in the middle overs and a strike rate of 166!
  • David Miller: David Miller has already been a part of the Gujarat Titans but they will be looking to bring him back, especially with his record at the death where he scores a boundary every 4.84 balls and has a strike rate of 171 at the death!
  • Harry Brook: Brook may not have had the greatest start to his career in the IPL, but his record speaks for itself where he strikes at 197 at the death and scores a boundary once every 3.7 balls! His SR in the middle is a more than great 158 in the last year as well!

  • Sai Kishore: Kishore has already played for the Titans and he has been great for them. Having taken 13 wickets in ten games already, at an average of just 19.8, striking at once every 14.3 balls making him a great option for the Gujarat Titans to bring back.
  • Mohammed Shami: Shami won the purple cap in the 2023 season before missing out because of an injury, but his 28 wickets at just 18 once every 14 balls will be memorable for the Titans think tank and they will be looking to bring him back!
